❓ How do I book directly on your website?

Use the search engine on villacaramontinu.fr: choose your dates, number of guests and select your villa. Online payment is secure, and you get our best rates by booking direct — with no platform commission.

💡 You're also welcome to call or message us before booking if you'd like to chat first.

❓ What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival, with no charge. Within 30 days, amounts paid are non-refundable. We also offer cancellation insurance directly on our website through our partner — an option we strongly recommend for high-season stays.

❓ Is a security deposit required?

Yes, a €2,000 credit card hold is requested through our partner Swikly, 10 days before your stay begins. Don't worry — this is a simple card imprint, no amount is deducted from your credit limit. The Swikly request is sent to you automatically by email.

❓ Can we book both villas together?

Absolutely! SERENA and ALTA can be rented together to accommodate up to 20 guests — perfect for large family gatherings or multi-family stays. Contact us directly for a combined quote.

❓ What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM; check-out is before 10:00 AM. Frédéric, our concierge, welcomes you on site — please agree on a specific time several days in advance, as he manages several villas in the area.

💡 Different timings may be possible subject to availability — just ask us at the time of booking.

❓ What's included in the stay?

Every stay includes: bed linen and bath towels, end-of-stay cleaning, heated pool, air conditioning, high-speed WiFi and private parking. No nasty surprises.

💡 Please bring your own beach towels — or rent them locally through our concierge Pinarello Villa Services.

  🏡  The villas & amenities 

❓ Which villa should we choose: SERENA or ALTA?

SERENA is ideal for families with young children: fully fenced property, pool secured with a roller shutter, children's dorm with tepee and toys, baby equipment available on request. ALTA suits families with older children or groups of couples better: 5 independent suites, more generous spaces, a freer atmosphere. Not sure? Give us a call — we'll help you decide.

❓ Is baby equipment available?

At Villa SERENA, a travel cot, high chair and accessories are available on site. At Villa ALTA, these can be arranged on request — please let us know at the time of booking so everything is ready on arrival.

❓ Is the villa fully air-conditioned?

Yes — all suites and shared spaces are equipped with reversible air conditioning. An absolute must under the Corsican sun in July and August.

❓ Is the WiFi good enough to work remotely?

High-speed WiFi is available in both villas, with a reliable connection for video calls and remote work. Corsica is a brilliant workcation destination — especially outside high season!

❓ What happens if something breaks during our stay?

The villa is fully checked at the start of each season. For urgent functional issues during your stay (air conditioning failure, broken appliance...), Pinarello Villa Services can step in. Please note: call-outs for non-urgent comfort issues (a blown bulb, a minor accessory...) are chargeable — we prefer to be informed first so we can assess whether an intervention is really needed.

❓ Is the pool maintained during the stay?

Our pool technician visits every Friday to check all parameters (chlorine, pH, filtration). For leaves and day-to-day upkeep during the week, a pool robot is available at the villa. If the water deteriorates after a storm, let us know — but be aware that during stormy periods pool technicians across the area are in high demand, so an intervention may take a little time.

❓ Are the pools safe? And heated?

Yes, both pools meet French safety regulations. Villa SERENA's pool has a motorised roller shutter. Villa ALTA's pool is secured with a bar cover and a connected alarm. As for heating: the pools are heated at the start and end of season (April-May and September-October), when outdoor temperatures call for it. In the height of summer, the Corsican sun does the job beautifully — the water naturally reaches 27°C and above!

❓ Are pets allowed?

Yes, with our prior agreement. For dogs, we ask that you clean up after them before departure and keep them off the sofas and beds. Please let us know at the time of booking.

❓ Where is the nearest beach?

La Source beach is 1.5 km from the villas — 3 minutes by car. Turquoise water, white sand, and something rare in Corsica: easy parking, even in peak season. Pinarello beach, with its water sports, is 5 minutes away.

❓ Where can we do the grocery shopping?

The nearest supermarket (Super U or Spar) is 2 km away in the centre of Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio. And just 500 m from the villa, 'Les Jardins de la Testa' sells fresh local fruit and vegetables — a real treat.

  🚣  Activities & days out 

❓ Are there activities available at the villas themselves?

Absolutely! Both villas have a pétanque court, with boules and a Mölkky set available — perfect for aperitivo hour. At Villa SERENA, the children's dorm is stocked with a great collection of Lego, board games and children's books — ideal for keeping the little ones entertained even on a Libecciu evening.

❓ What water sports are available nearby?

Pinarello beach is a great base: catamaran, kayak, jet ski, parasailing, scuba diving... all available directly on the beach. Our concierge can organise bookings on request.

❓ What about hiking and mountain activities?

The natural pools of the Cavu river are just a few kilometres away — a must with children. The famous GR20 trail starts 20 minutes away in Conca. For canyoning and hiking in the Bavella massif, allow around 1 hour by car — every minute is worth it.

❓ How far is Porto-Vecchio and the big beaches?

Porto-Vecchio and its restaurants are 15 km away (20 minutes). Palombaggia, Santa Giulia, Rondinara, Bonifacio... the very best of southern Corsica is within easy reach. Figari airport is 40 minutes away.

  ☀️  Climate & best time to visit 

❓ What's the weather like in southern Corsica?

From June to September, the climate is hot and dry, with generous sunshine and very little rain — perfect for making the most of the pool and the beaches. In September and October, storms can roll in, sometimes intense but usually short-lived. Temperatures stay mild well into mid-October.

❓ Is the sea warm?

The Mediterranean warms up gradually through the season: around 20°C in early June, 24-25°C in July, and up to 27-28°C in August — the perfect temperature for swimming with children. In September the water is still very pleasant, often warmer than in July thanks to the summer's accumulated heat.

❓ When is the best time to book?

July and August are the hottest and most sought-after months — perfect for swimming and the beach, but book well in advance. Our personal favourite? June. The vegetation is absolutely spectacular before the summer heat scorches it, the beaches are still peaceful and the light is simply beautiful. September is also excellent: warm sea, thinning crowds and a Corsica that feels like itself again.

❓ Are there mosquitoes, wasps or ants?

Let's be honest: we're surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, and like everywhere in Corsica, a few insects come with the territory. The good news on mosquitoes: the villas sit on a ridge and the wind generally keeps them at bay — though it can vary from year to year, so it's worth bringing repellent just in case. Wasps follow the same pattern: present here and there, but not overwhelming. For ants, we treat the property at the start of each season, but in a natural setting it's hard to eliminate them entirely. The best advice: don't leave food outside between meals — that really is the key. A tip that works well: burning coffee grounds in a bowl is a surprisingly effective ant deterrent.
